Do you pay cash for cars, or do you finance and invest the difference?

Hey Marco, what if I want to pay cash for a car from an out of state dealership planning to have shipped. Do I have any negotiation leverage other than final price?

I would like to go through the process of F & I and then hand them a pay-off check, but I am currently not working (disability case pending) and I don't think I would qualify for the loan despite an 800 credit rating. What can I do?

This is why I hate buying cars. What BS.

Another option is to buy used and drive it until it dies or repair costs get too high. I usually own cars for 15-20 years and they end up going to the Salvation Army for the tax deduction or if still running good to a high school kid needing basic transportation for a few hundred dollars. It's not sexy but it's the cheapest way to own a car.

Thank you so much for being thorough!

Will never buy a brand new car. Never trade in your car! Use the Blue Book to get a fair price and sell it privately. If I don’t get the deal I want I walk away. I negotiate and have them get rid of all those “Fees.” Once I have a confirmed price, then I them am paying cash; no financing.

If I get to the "signing room" and walk away when they don't wanna eat the small fees, then they call, begging to come back and offer to eat the fees. At this point, I'm concerned that they might have tampered with the vehicle. Am I the only paranoid one here?

I've been at the dealerships for a couple of months now trying out used cars. Have not decided yet. Thankfully I did not settle as I came close to purchasing a volkswagen or a BMW. After watching Scottys videos, I terminated my search for german cars and am concentrating on Honda Accord vs. Acura TLX line.

Although I am pissed that todays cars use electronic push button gear changing instead of the classic clutch gear change. The push button gear change really
takes away from the driving experience. And if something goes wrong… you are going to pay a fortune for replacement. Give me clutch gear and classic parking brake any day !!!

Hopefully I will have a car by this weekend !

It does make sense; however, I have bad credit, so they probably will NOT finance me, OR my rate will be so high through the roof that this "deal" will not be a deal, but a rip off! Please do a video for people like me that HAVE saved money for a car, but cannot even "pretend" to be financing anything because our credit scores are like zero!🤭

Long before you get to the end of that road they're going to ask you how you're paying for that car many different times until they get an answer alright

hahaa what a load of cow dunk. Cash is king. When you walk in with serious intent to purchase a vehicle, cash always puts the buyer in the driver's seat, so to speak. You pretty much hold all the bargaining chips. Buying vehicles on finance is where you get ripped off with interest. If you don't have the cash, use a business name to purchase a car on a novated lease, thus the taxable amount falls under your gross earnings not net pay.

THIS IS GREAT AND ALL BUT i.cant seem to.find any advice on what it means to have a car paid. Off. And then needing a new car. I paid my car off early with the stimulus so i didn't have the monthly bill. WHAT TO DO. SHOULD I USE THE CAR AS A DOWN PAYMENT/TRADE IN OR KEEP IT AND BUY A CAR A DIFFERENT WAY. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Pause! So you are not charged any interest from the time the car loan closes to the time that you pay it off? Maybe I just don't really understand auto loans.

Ok so story time-
My cousin, who is blonde, played up the “I’m a dumb blonde girl and do not know anything about cars” trope when she went to the dealership to get a Lexus. She did so many stupid things like open the trunk and said “Oh my god! Where’s the engine?” Or she pretend to not be able to open the door “bouncing” her Ta Ta’s the whole time in front of the salesman.

When it came time to buy the car she played up the dumb blonde thing again and they offered to finance in house with this ridiculous rate. Like 20% or something in exchange they took thousands off the price for her to make it look like she got a deal.

The next day she came back in her business suit and paid off the loan. THEY WERE PISSED. She is one of my favorite cousins.

Gotta a question. I recently sold my 2017 Traverse with only 45k miles on it. Back to the dealership, Nov 4th of this year so I gave the truck and keys back sign over the paper work. The payoff was 15k blue book gave the value in excellent condition 22 410. So the dealership gave 22 even I accepted, so now it's pass the 10 days they say it would take for me to get my money. The difference was 7k to me. Once they get the title I get my money. How long does a person typically have to wait. The dealership said they paid it off so I call the l finance company the finance company said they have not received any money from the dealership. I'm caught between he say she say. Trying to be patient but I feel like a fool or a sucka just giving up my truck without receiving any money from them is this how it really works when a dealership calls you up out of the blue and wants to buy ur car back. Now I have nothing to show for it but some receipts showing what I will get once they get the title.

I bought a new car 15 years ago with a huge discount and no fees. I maintain it myself. It still drives fine. I can't think of a cheaper and more anxiety free way.
